Friday Fire Contained To Dial Lodge Basement

A fire reported at 5:17 Friday morning in a basement storage room at Dial Lodge, 26 Prospect Avenue, was confined by firefighters to that room. A heavy smoke condition, however, forced the evacuation of the building.

Lt. Anthony Federico reported that firemen had to cut open a section of the first floor to reach the fire, which had spread to a ceiling. No one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Borough detective bureau.
