$7,000 Lotus Destroyed By Sunday Engine Fire

 As Elias B. Baker, whom police identified as the owner of Grover Lumber, 194 Alexander Street, was driving his 1970 Lotus sports car on Route 206 North Sunday afternoon, he suddenly noticed flames coming from the engine compartment in the rear view mirror. 

Ptl. Robert Buchanan responded to the 2:19 alarm and police with powder extinguishers and firemen managed to put out the fire but not before the $7,000 car, Capt. Jack Petrone said, “had been totally destroyed.”
