Firemen Battle Two Blazes in Deep Cold

Three Princeton firemen were injured as Princeton and Lawrenceville volunteers simultaneously fought two separate fires in 20-degree weather Thursday evening on Castle Howard Court in Princeton and Pretty Brook Road in Lawrence.

Two men were treated at Princeton Hospital for smoke inhalation, and one of them was treated for first and second degree bums on the hands, and a third man was treated for a severe bruise on the leg.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. David Brodsky, at 59 Castle Howard Court, valued at more than $41,000, was extensively damaged in the tire which brought Princeton firemen out in response to two separate general alarms at 6:15 and 9:50 p.m.

A blaze which completely destroyed a two-story swimming cabana at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Mills on Pretty Brook Road brought fire companies from Lawrenceville, Lawrence Road and Hopewell to the scene for four hours.
