James Pace

MANCHESTER — James Pace, 100, died Tuesday at the Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.
Born in Philadelphia, he had lived in Princeton for many years before moving to Crestwood Village in Whiting in 1983.
Mr. Pace retired in the late 1960s after 45 years as manager of the Charter Club at Princeton University.
He was a member of Princeton Lodge 38 F&AM for 68 years and was its oldest living past master. He also was a member of the Princeton Hook & Ladder Fire Co. since 1928, and was chief in 1960. Mr. Pace was a life member of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Trenton and Crescent Temple of Trenton.
Husband of the late Dorothy Pace, he is survived by a son, Francis Pace of Flagler Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Burial will be in Trinity All Saints Cemetery in Princeton.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Hook & Ladder Fire Co. will hold services at 7:30 p.m. and Princeton Lodge F&AM will hold services at 8 p.m.
