Collins Check Helps Buy Mini-Pumper
The mini-pumper, a stocky, sturdy little fire-fighter, is the backdrop for presentation of a $5,000 check from Arthur Collins, left, to Borough Fire Commissioner Richard Woodbridge and the Princeton fire department. Next to Commissioner Woodbridge are Fire Chief Terrance Davidson; second assistant Chief Tom Hagadorn and last year’s Chief William Rodweller. Collins will present the remaining $5,000 of its donation toward the $50,000 pumper when the Chambers garage is completed.
Thanks for gift towards pumper
To the editor:
The following letter was sent to Arthur Collins, president of the Collins Development Corp.:
Dear Arthur:
On behalf of the fire department I want to formally and officially thank you for the $5,000 contribution that the Collins Development Corp. made towards our recently acquired mini-
pumper. Your public spirited donation is a shining example of good public/private cooperation.
Both the community at large and Palmer Square stand to benefit from the new equipment. I am glad that you had a brief opportunity to inspect the vehicle. As you know, the department is delighted with the equipment since it substantially exceeded our initial expectations in terms of quality and performance.
Also, please extend our thanks to those in the Collins Devlopment Corp. who helped to make the contribution possible. Their assistance is gratefully acknowledged.
