Transmission Blamed In Car Fire
A faulty transmission is being blamed for a car fire which erupted early last week while a
Cranbury resident was driving on South Harrison Street.
The driver, police said, noticed smoke coming up through the gear shift. Two fire trucks responded to an 11:42 a.m call and extinguished the blaze. Police said the interior of the 1973 sedan, which had to be towed from the scene, was burned.
